I’m Learning…
|
Or at least trying to. I feel like every time I want to work on something, I end up watching 5 tutorial videos and understanding like maybe 10% of each. BUT! I am trying, and that’s what’s important, right? I’m always happy to chat, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Look at all these steamy books!!!

One thing I’m learning is that promo is hard! Not that I thought it’d be easy, but wow! If you’re looking for ways that you personally can help, sharing my stuff on social media, rating and reviewing my books when you read them (especially on Amazon and Goodreads!) and even just adding my email to your whitelist or address book to prove to Google that I’m not a spam bot to be sent to the junk folder are all great ways to give me a bit of a boost.

| You guys are my beginning. I have a teeny tiny mailing list at the moment, and you are it, my lovelies! (That felt awkward, what’s a better non-gendered name for a group of people that are fans of me, or at least enjoy reading my stuff? Anyway…) |
| My list is tiny, but author friends assure me that one of the best ways to get myself out there is to get a bigger one ( ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶’̶s̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶a̶i̶d̶). In order to do that, I’ve joined a couple badass promos! Basically, I get ‘karma points’ for every time someone clicks one of the links I’ve provided here. Having higher karma means that I’ll be able to do more and bigger promotions, so please do so even if they don’t sound like your thing! |

| IS FREAKING DIFFICULT. For those of you who don’t know, this is my first year trying National Novel Writing Month. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically where people challenge themselves during the month of November to write 50K-100K words in a month. You set your personal goal at the beginning (I chose 50K) and are supposed to write & update your profile with what you’ve done each day. |
| I said last week that I’d gotten off to a not-great start, and I’m sad to say that I haven’t done much better this week. I should be at around 26K-27K. And I’m at… 8K. Oof. But in better news, I’ve gotten nearly the whole outline done for the first 1/4 of the book, so that should make things go much quicker from now on. Depths of Desire

| I mentioned last week that the new story I’m writing is called Depths of Desire. I didn’t mention much last week in my blog, though my mailing list subscribers know a bit about the plot already, and I think I’m enjoying watching the hype slowly grow for this story, so I won’t say anything else this week either lol! But I am excited for the gay mermaids and their fancy…parts 😉 |
I’m loving brainstorming more and more with my co-author, Jen E. Talia, and I have been getting some pretty serious interest from the TikTok videos I’ve been posting! I can’t wait to share even more soon!

Cover Update for Tainted Belief

Like I said, we all make mistakes. Live and learn, right? Well, another thing I learned this week is that I am not a graphics designer. I make pretty, smexy words, I don’t make pretty book cover art LOL. So I’ve paid an artist to redesign the cover for Tainted Belief. I’ve gotten a little bit of a sneak peek so far, and I’m super excited to reveal it. Keep your eyes on your inbox next Wednesday, 11/23! | Ok, I’m suuuper embarrassed, but the last redesign of the site…didn’t go to plan. My web designer (aka my nesting partner and resident cat-wrangler) mislabeled something and for about 5 days after I posted the last blog, everything looked…kiiinda awful on the phone. But the good news is, we’re all fixed up (and I actually verified it this time!) so go check it out, and if you see any issues please please please let me know! |
Again, the website isn’t there for me to enjoy, and I’m just going off what a few ‘how to make an author site’ tutorials said I should have, so if you see something off/wrong or have suggestions on what would make it easier or more enjoyable for you and other viewers, please let me know! I am starting to see the first of the reviews come in for Practice Makes Perfect, and I’m so pleased! Release is still set for Nov 30th, but if you’d like to get an early copy, all you need to do is sign up for my mailing list and then promise to give an honest review of it for me when you’re done reading it!
